My child has never done a sport. Is that okay?

Completely. Every belt on our mat started as a beginner. Classes are small, drills are matched to experience level, and Head Instructor Maria Bacchetta builds new students up step by step. Nobody is thrown into the deep end.

What is the best age to start?

We take kids from age 3 in the Ninjas class, which teaches movement and coordination through games. If your child is older, Eagles covers ages 5 to 6 and the Warriors programs cover 7 to 12, so there is no such thing as too late.

How do we try a class for free?

Call (754) 366-1425 or stop by, and we will book your child into the right class for their age. The trial is a full, real class with no commitment and no pressure afterward.

Do classes fit around school?

Yes. Ninjas starts at 3:30 PM Monday through Thursday and the other programs follow into the evening, so leaving Lotus after pickup gets you here with time to spare.

Resilience

On the mat, failure is normal and useful. A kid misses a combination, hears a correction, and throws it again, better. Programs for Lotus Kids

Whatever ages you are raising, Lotus families have a lane at Xcel. Ninjas welcomes 3 and 4 year olds with games that build movement and coordination. Eagles gives 5 and 6 year olds foundational strikes, blocks, stances, and teamwork. Warriors Basic takes kids 7 to 12 through kickboxing and martial arts fundamentals and their first belt promotions, and Warriors Advanced continues from purple belt with sparring and competition prep. Teens 13 and up, and parents too, can train Kickboxing, Muay Thai, and MMA in the evening class.
