Yellow Belt


Below is what you need to know for your belt test.  Each student is required a minimum of 30 classes before testing for orange belt.

 

Basic Motion (White stripe)

Round house                               (dolrya chagi)
Step behind Side kick                   (yup chagi)
Lead side kick (front leg side kick)
Side punch horse stance moving forward
Push kick                                   (mil a chagi)
½ step – take ½ step forward then slide rear foot up

Poomse (Blue stripe)

Taegeuk Il Jang (1)

  1. Turn left-Left low block, left walking stance
  2. Step forward, Right middle punch, right walking stance
  3. Turn 180 to right-Right low block, right walking stance
  4. Step forward, Left middle punch, left walking stance
  5. Turn 90 to left-Left low block, left front stance
  6. Then Right middle punch (no step)
  7. Bring back foot up, Face to right-Left inward middle block, right walking stance
  8. Step forward, Right middle punch, left walking stance
  9. Turn 180 to left-Right inward middle block, left walking stance
  10. Step forward, Left middle punch, right walking stance
  11. Right foot to the right -Right low block, right front stance
  12. Then Left middle punch (no step)
  13. Bring back foot up, face left-Left high block, left walking stance
  14. Right front kick
  15. Right middle punch, right walking stance
  16. Turn 180 to right-Right high block, right walking stance
  17. Left front kick
  18. Left middle punch, left walking stance
  19. Front foot to right-Left low block, left front stance
  20. Step forward, Right middle punch, right front stance (Kihup)

Turn 180 to left-Joonbe


Self defense (against punch) (Green stripe)

All curriculum has been abbreviated. You must learn in class first, this is only to serve as a reminder.
Students should know how to do all self defense techniques from a right AND a left attack.


1.   Step, block, middle punch, keyop

2.  Step, knife hand block and knife hand attack to neck (together), keyop

3.   Step, block and palm strike, keyop

4.   Slide step back, slide front kick, round kick, double punch, keyop

5.   Step in, strike attacker's arm, elbow to ribs, spin elbow to solar plexus, keyop
