Below is what you need to know for your belt test.  Each student is required a minimum of 100 classes before testing for black belt. Plus assistant teaching time and conditioning.


Basic Motion (White stripe)

Review all hand techniques: punch, knife hand, ridge hand, spear hand, hammer fist, back fist, palm strikeReview all kicks: front, round, side, back, wheel, hook, jump and pop up kicksReview all blocks: in, out, up, down

Poomse (Blue stripe)

Bassai

​1. Left hand as knife hand, right fist, bring together. Start in front and circle left in counterclockwise direction while lifting left foot to right knee and back down, hands stopping in front
2. Falling forward into right hand middle fist block, left leg crosses behind right.
3. Stepping into front stance, right middle fist block, then left middle fist block
4. Turn 180 degrees into front stance, right middle fist block, then left hand middle fist block
5. Stepping up into crane stance on left foot, low block right
6. Stepping the right - front stance, right back fist low into middle fist block, then left middle fist block
7. Turn to left into horse stance,left knife hand over right fist at right side
8. Chop with left, middle punch right. lean into left front stance and back fist right
9. Horse stance, left middle punch. lean into right front stance and back fist left
10. Moving forward into back stance right middle knife hand block
11. forward into back stance left middle knife hand block
12. forward into back stance right hand middle knife hand block
13. stepping back into back stance left middle knife hand block
14. steppng forward cross right leg behind left, hands block above forehead
15. right side kik, turning back into back stance left middle knife hand block
16. Forward into back stance right middle knife hand block
17. step back into ready position, feet come together, hands above head coming down into a 'chair break' motion
18. Right front stance, bring hands down as to hit in sides
19. Skip forward into another front stance while faking left punch then punching right
20. Turning back into left front stance, low cutting motion with right hand
21. stand up stright finishing cut motion
22. Throw away with right hand then outside to inside crescent kick with right landing in horse stance. Then low block right, back fist left
23. Crescent kick right slapping hand wih foot, elbow strike right
24. Three punch down motion
25. Turn to the right into front stance,chamber hands to left hip
26. Double punch (head left hand, stomach right hand) same time, front stance
27. stand up straight, feet together, chamber hands left then right
28. Step into front stance right. double punch together (head right, stomach left)
29. Stand up straight, feet together. chamber right then left
30. Step into front stance left, double punch together (head left, stomach right)
31. Turning back into left front stance, high block with left hand, sweeping motion with right and back fist right while bringing left hand to chamber
32. Move to right front stance with right high block, sweeping motion with left and back fist left while chambering right
33. Move right foot forward into back stance, double middle fist block right
34. to the right 90 degrees right foot forward into back stance double middle fist block right
35. Bring left foot 90 degrees into back stance double middle fist block left


Weapons (Purple stripe) – Bo form 2

Self defense (gun defense) (Green stripe)
All curriculum has been abbreviated. You must learn in class first, this is only to serve as a reminder.
Students should know how to do all self defense techniques from a right AND a left attack.


1. at stomach: Jump back grab wrist and gun in hands with thumb blocking hammer. Turn hands while stepping under own arms making attacker’s arms bend. Press backwards on attacker and come down on one knee, forcing attacker to fall backwards, once down, lock arm down with leg and punch to rib, keyop

2. at head: Push gun away from head and turn attacker’s forearm up, wrap arm around attacker's arm and press upward at elbow. Lean back to cause attacker to come up and off balance, then push backwards making attacker fall by sweeping leg, lock arm with leg then punch, keyop

3. at back: step back, sweeping arm behind so the gun is pointed away, grab with hand, bend attacker’s arm back and hit hard, knocking gun out of hand. Wrist lock and take down, follow thru locking arm and punching, keyop

Kicking combinations (Red stripe)


Always start with right leg back fighting stance, go through combo once then start with left leg back and do again.
1.  Slide side kick, back kick, rear leg round kick, back kick, pop up side kick, double punch, keyop, repeat
2.  Slide round kick, fake front round kick, slide round one low one high, left round kick, back kick, double punch, keyop, repeat

Required Break (Brown Stripe) – Jump back kick

Falling Technique (Gray Stripe) - standing front roll

Sparring (Orange Stripe)

Ring management: cutting, checking, doubles, cover punch.
