Uniform/Belt

To keep your uniform crisp and looking good a long time:

1. Never use bleach when washing

(color safe bleach is fine)
bleach tends to turn a uniform yellow or gray

2. Always hang to dry, don't use the dryer

the dryer tends to breakdown the material and make it soft

3. Don't wear your uniform when eating

4. Don't wear your uniform when out playing with friends

5. Don't wash your belt.

This is ancient Korean philosophy. Washing the belt washes out the knowledge. When you receive a new belt that is too stiff to tie, throw it in the dryer for a little bit.

How to tie your belt.

Double wrap:
Fold your belt in half, take the middle (which is at the fold line) and place that at your belly button. Wrap around your body and back to the front.  Take the end that is on top and wrap from the bottom, underneath both pieces, pull snug. Now take the one on top, go over the one on bottom and up through the hole, pull tight. The ends of the belt should be coming out of the top of the knot and flop down (like bunny ears).

Single wrap (Panthers):
Wrap from behind and even up ends. Take the end that is on top and wrap from the bottom, underneath both pieces, pull snug. Now take the one on top, go over the one on bottom and up through the hole, pull tight. The ends of the belt should be coming out of the top of the knot and flop down (like bunny ears).

Sparring Gear can be washed. Shin/instep and forearm guards can go into a front load washer, hang to dry. Use sanitary wipes or spray on Chest gear and head gear. Mouth piece should be throughly rinsed after every use.
